2nd Article : The domino effect in Europe’s debt crisis

I choose to comment this article, because it’s a theme of actuality. And if this article, we have a look of the consequences of the crisis in each country of Europe. Moreover, we have the explanation of the linking of the events: why a fact X is the cause of a fact Y…

In my point of view, we can only find a solution all together because we are more or less all in the same situation. The domino effect is the effect of contagion, every country of Europe have business, money, investment in the others country of Europe.

And I am totally agree with Marina when she says that : « I think, one of the biggest problem in different societies are the uncertainty and fear. People don´t know what to do. » ; That’s totaly right, nobody knows how to change the situation… Politics are multiplicating the number of meeting to try to find together a solution…

Man City records losses of more than $300 million

This article makes me think about the relation between football and money.

Is it normal to spend that much money in times of crisis? Spend millions of euros for a player contract?

I chose this article because I am outraged money spent, wasted in this environment and the sport. It gives a huge amount of money young players. But once they are too old to play, nothing is done to assist them in their conversion. Football is a sport watched by millions and millions of people, I think he should lead by example. Make efforts to restrict budgets … But nothing, nothing is done in this direction

Is Spanish safe now?

No, I think that the most difficult for Spain is arriving…

A period of recession and budget cuts, for Spain, but also for Greece, Italy, Portugal or even France and other EU countries. I think one of the biggest problems in Spain earlier today is the use; or rather unemployment is very high. Students’ study are longer, but there is no work for them out of the university. We must find a way to create jobs, by raising the consumption.

Article n°3 : Tenth Anniversary of the Euro vs Will the euro survive?

Almost ten years ago, on 1st January 2002, euro banknotes and coins were introduced in 12 Member States of the European Union. Since then, five more Member States have adopted the euro in recent years.

The tenth anniversary is on January 1st. The big question is :

 Will the euro survive ?

Few days ago, the leaders of France and Germany have agreed a master plan for imposing budget discipline across the euro zone, saying the EU treaty will need to be changed in the search for a sweeping solution to its debt crisis.

Recently,  the ratings agency Standard & Poor’s added to the urgency by announcing it is considering downgrading its credit rating of the Euro zone as a whole, including Germany, if a solution is not reached soon.

This article shows us the plight of Europe, but especially in the euro area. This highlights the fact that the crisis is not only the problem of Ireland or Greece, but it is everyone’s problem. If the euro collapses, it’s all euro area countriesthat will collapse, and their savings with them.

My opinion is that the biggest problem is how to find an agreement between the countries of the euro area. Time is short, we must act quickly and well. I think we’ll know more about the next few months.

This is a situation and a subject that scare me a little. I thought the euro was a strong currency, and I thought it could not weaken … I begin to doubt…

Article n°2 : Spain Overview

The Second article is an article find in the website of the New York Times.

The New York Times is an American daily newspaper founded and continuously published in New York City since 1851. Its website is the most popular American online newspaper website, receiving more than 30 million unique visitors per month.

This article deals with the situation of Spain in this time of crisis. I have chosen it because I know very well the situation in France, but I know little about the Spanish situation.

It takes stock of the mandate of Zapatero, highlighting the bad economics and good social aspects of the mandate of Zapatero.
We can more or less say that Zapatero’s economic record is very poor. The country has one of the largest deficit in Europe …

Zapatero has marked a social change in Spain. His Socialist government has offered abortion and also allowed gay marriage. Spain with this government has shifted to a more secular country

I followed these election between the PP and the PSOE. I have some knowledge in politics, at least in French one. But here in Spain, I have no political opinion, I try to understand how the Spanish policy or at least what are the main ideas of the different parties and what are their views on the crisis.

Spain, like many countries in Europe and the world is in a global period of crisis : economically, socially, financially … This is generally the case in a global crisis.
In my point of view, all the States members are having to tighten their belts, the European Union likewise therefor. And people have to stick together .

Article n°1 : The cult of Steve Jobs

Can a man by himself represent or symbolise a business, a group, or a team ?

Is Messi the symbol of the FC Barcelona Team ? Does Zidane represent the French football game? As for Steve Jobs, what is the first word that comes to mind when hearing his name? … APPLE

I have chosen this article in particular to talk about Steve Jobs and to assess how a man can influence a business or group.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-15194365

For me Steve Jobs was a genius, a futurist. Steve has revolutionized the way of doing marketing and communication. He knew how to use innovative methods of communication to differentiate its brand : Apple.

Steve Jobs was not a perfect man, far from it. But If i do not totally admire the man he was, I admire how he stood for the ideas he had, and how he has put in place to do it. As Messi is able to restart a match of FC Barca, Steve Jobs was able to relaunch an apple product on the market.

This article is from the website of the BBC.

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a British public service broadcaster. Its headquarters is at Broadcasting House in the City of Westminster, London. It is the largest broadcaster in the world.

Outside the UK, the BBC World Service has provided services by direct broadcasting and re-transmission contracts by sound radio since the inauguration of the BBC Empire Service in December 1932, and more recently by television and online.

And if you have not see it, I invite you to see this video about Steve Jobs :

These days I am reading this biography of Steve Jobs, which tells the life story of Steve Jobs. I am learning lot of things because as says the article, you know few things about his personal life. We learn for example why Steve Jobs wore turtlenecks.

Steve Jobs was a man known for his signature style. During the last decade, the CEO and entrepreneur was hardly ever seen in public without his black turtleneck, blue jeans, and New Balance sneakers.

Many have stopped wondering why Jobs chose such unusual attire to wear while unveiling revolutionary products to the world, but it turns out that there’s actually an interesting story about why Jobs was never seen without his turtleneck and blue jeans.

“On a trip to Japan in the early 1980s, Jobs asked Sony’s chairman Akio Morita why everyone in the company’s factories wore uniforms. He told Jobs that after the war, no one had any clothes, and companies like Sony had to give their workers something to wear each day. Over the years, the uniforms developed their own signatures styles, especially at companies such as Sony, and it became a way of bonding workers to the company. “I decided that I wanted that type of bonding for Apple,” Jobs recalled. Sony, with its appreciation for style, had gotten the famous designer Issey Miyake to create its uniform. It was a jacket made of rip-stop nylon with sleeves that could unzip to make it a vest. So Jobs called Issey Miyake and asked him to design a vest for Apple, Jobs recalled, “I came back with some samples and told everyone it would great if we would all wear these vests. Oh man, did I get booed off the stage. Everybody hated the idea.” In the process, however, he became friends with Miyake and would visit him regularly. He also came to like the idea of having a uniform for himself, both because of its daily convenience (the rationale he claimed) and its ability to convey a signature style. “So I asked Issey to make me some of his black turtlenecks that I liked, and he made me like a hundred of them.” Jobs noticed my surprise when he told this story, so he showed them stacked up in the closet. “That’s what I wear,” he said. “I have enough to last for the rest of my life.”

I hope you enjoyed this subject, I think the debate maybe open to the icons of the world in general : people who represent a group of people…
